Inspiration?

Yesterday morning I asked Logan if he would let me choose his shirt, and I pulled one out that he hasn't worn in a long time. His response was, "The Holy Ghost told me I can't wear that." ?!!

Everyday Events

Here's what we've been up to lately...

Dance parties at Logan's request; lots of them! He even break dances.

Filing taxes; Logan fell asleep on my shoulder (or so I thought) while I was working on it. After a while I realized his weight wasn't really on me and I could move.

SNOW! It has snowed several days over the last couple of weeks. We took the kids sledding on Saturday and had a blast! We found a pretty good hill and learned what a dare-devil Logan can be. He would lay on his stomach on the sled, and go down face first all alone! There were several other (older) kids sledding who'd been afraid to go down that hill at all, but they changed their minds when they saw our three year old doing it alone! He was hilarious to watch, and he just laughed if he fell off!

Catching up on some housekeeping tips... (I found Logan looking at this book several times throughout the day.)

Baking; chocolate crackle cookies are DELICIOUS!

Church; Annie's been falling asleep on the way home, and then not waking up when we come inside.

Just being cute; I took these pictures this morning.

Trapped!

This morning we had a little event that is so very blog-worthy. The kids and I were getting ready to go to the Y, and I was in their room grabbing sweatshirts. They were following me around as usual; Logan in particular was bouncing off the walls with enthusiastic three year old energy. The next thing I knew, I watched him run to the bedroom door, flip the lock, and slam it closed. NO! The lock on their bedroom is on the OUTSIDE of their door, and we were all INSIDE the bedroom! I saw the whole thing, but it happened so fast I didn't have time to react. I immediately let Logan know that he'd just locked all three of us in the bedroom, and that I couldn't unlock the door. He wailed and screamed about being trapped (who's fault did he think this was?) while I searched for something, anything to put in that little hole on our side of the lock. I, of course, didn't have success because who keeps long pointed objects in a child's room? Their hangers are even the thick plastic kind!

Well, we were so very lucky that I'd already put my cell phone in my pocket, and I called Jim to come home and rescue us. Thankfully he works nearby. I don't know what I would have done if the phone hadn't been on me; we'd probably still be in there! Logan promised never to lock that door again and I fully believed he'd learned his lesson. No such luck; he promptly locked himself in the bedroom as soon as we were home again!

Happy Valentine's Day

We don't typically do much for Valentine's Day, but we did decide a couple of years ago that we'd try to make it a day of love for our children, not just ourselves. This year we'd planned to have a fun family outing in honor of the holiday (on Saturday)...that's all. My unbelievably sweet husband had other ideas, however. On Thursday, he came home from work with these:
...then he took me to dinner. He'd even arranged for a babysitter! Thank you sweetheart!

A Goal Almost Accomplished

You know that really pregnant girl that you see at the swimming pool, and you just can't help but gawk and wonder how she's so brave to get into a swimming suit? I'm that girl, and I've learned that EVERYONE stares. I used to be one of those who stared, and always vowed I would exercise when I was pregnant. Then I had Logan and didn't exercise...not once. Then I promised myself again I would exercise with my next pregnancy. I was even less active with Annie (if that's possible). So this time I promised myself again, and because we were already going to the Y several times a week it wasn't so hard. In fact, I've been AMAZED at how it's affected me. During my first trimester, the only time I wasn't sick was when I exercised, and during the subsequent two trimesters the only time I don't ache everywhere is when I'm in the pool and for a couple of hours after I get out...especially now. I also LOVE the energy boost I have afterwards (even though now it doesn't last long). I'm fairly convinced that I want to live in the pool until this baby comes.

So Many Babies

Right now, I have at least 11 friends who are also pregnant, and I thought it would be really cool to get a picture of all of our bellies together... Then I decided that would be too difficult, especially since only one lives in the same city as me. Anyway, I still think it's awesome that I know so many people who are having babies this year! Just had to share...:)

Instead, here is one belly pic...33 weeks. I'm huge and carrying this one LOW...sometimes I wonder how it is that he hasn't fallen out yet.

My other model...this one better not be having a baby... (He just wanted to pose like Mommy.)

Evening Home Family

It has been so wonderful to have Jim home in the evenings with us lately. We've really enjoyed relaxing together and playing with the kids.

This was our activity for family home evening this week. Anybody ever played with Bendaroos? They are WAY better than play-dough; in fact I don't think I've ever made anything with play-dough that I was really pleased with. The best part: no mess and they don't dry up!

This is my creation!

Logan's pumpkin (he had some help...)

Annie's creation...Logan kept asking her what it was, but I don't think she ever told him. :)

Another evening at home with the family (but not family home evening) and the kids enjoyed reading with Daddy.

Yet another evening...last night Annie gave us all a concert. She sang and played the piano for probably 30 min. I have great video footage of it, but we can't seem to get our videos to work on the blog.
