FAQ's

(Plus a couple that you know you wanted to ask...)

When are you due? I don't know. Well, actually I do, but the doctor hasn't told me yet because I haven't been in to see her. So I won't tell you that I'm due March 24 until she tells me so. (Annie's b-day is March 27.)

Was this planned? Yep. Positively. Absolutely. For sure, and we're thrilled.

Are you nuts? Maybe.

Are you sick yet? YES. I have a feeling I'm going to be more uncomfortable this time around...

How are you going to survive in a two-bedroom apartment that has four flights of stairs leading up to it? Good question...

Family Pictures

We had family pictures taken yesterday at JCPenney. Annie was a real pill and fought us the whole time. She either wanted to play games and crawl away from us, or she squealed and pushed when we tried to hold her. It was a miracle that we had so many good pictures in the end. We were actually really pleased with our results.

Jim's parents bought us these shirts from Hawaii (Annie is wearing Logan's matching shorts) and we thought it would be fun to have a picture taken in them.

This was the very last picture we took, and when Annie was the best behaved. The reason? She LOVES wearing her sunglasses!

Simple Math

1 museum + 1 free day in January=a whole lot of people

1 museum + 1 free day in July=a whole lot of people x 50

The Denver Museum of Nature and Science holds several free days each year; I think it's about once a month. We went in January a year and a half ago, and fought the crowd, but still had a blast and thought it well worth the gas money to get up there. There was another free day yesterday, so my mom and I decided to take all five kids. It was fun, but I've never seen so many people in a place like that all at once. There were a lot of exhibits that we couldn't see because it was so crowded. That building had to be beyond it's maximum capacity! I guess that's what you get when you go in the summer.

Anyway...since we were heading up to Denver anyway, I stopped at the temple first so the kids could have a little visit.

Logan wanted to have his picture taken in front of the flowers because he didn't want to have his back to the temple...he was too busy looking at it.

He went up and touched the temple...very exciting. I had a hard time getting him to pose for this one.

She wouldn't look at me because she was too busy looking at the statue of Angel Moroni.

Now begin the museum pictures...and most of them are terrible. All the movement and craziness made a lot of blur.

I really like this one.

This is the other good one.

Uncle Dave (Sarah's husband) also came with us and we were glad for his help keeping track of the kids! We only lost Logan once...or twice...

After many hours of fighting the crowds, someone was pooped.

Home at last and happy to see Daddy.

1 bath + 1 banana= ready for bed!

Little Miss Mischief

...is her new name. I am ready to officially change it. She is into EVERYTHING and she climbs on EVERYTHING and she NEVER takes me seriously when I tell her 'no'. She just gives me a cute smile and continues to do it, or gets into or onto something else. In TEN MINUTES one day she unrolled a whole roll of paper towels, splashed in the toilet, and pulled my shirts off of their hangers in my closet...TEN MINUTES. And that's totally normal for her.

She is also attaining new heights every day...literally. Some of her favorites are: the kitchen table, the toilet, the very tops of the couches, her dresser, Logan's dresser, and their bookshelves. I'm sure she'd also be on the kitchen counters and the washing machine if she was strong enough to push our chairs out of our carpeted dining room. Of course, she also has no fear when it comes to climbing play equipment...but that's old news. Today we went to the library and she climbed on the reading tables and the toy table. Whenever I'd take her down, she'd crawl over to a shelf of books or movies and unload it!

Maybe I can sign her up for baby rock climbing classes somewhere...

My Week

Has it really only been a week? I seriously feel like the 4th of July was a LONG time ago! I guess that's what happens when your days are PACKED. Some notable items this week (of which I do not have pictures):
  • Annie did NOT scream when we went to the YMCA...so I got a workout...two days in a row!
  • We went ice-blocking for our playgroup, and my kids LOVED it...even the time I fell off the ice with Annie in my arms...she hardly cried and wanted to do it again. Everyone was so impressed that she was brave enough and even enjoyed it.
  • I went white-water rafting for FREE! It was a volunteer opportunity for the Therapeutic Recreation program that I used to work for. My job was to be a buddy for a participant and make sure he stayed in the raft...otherwise I just enjoyed the ride!
  • This was week number FOUR of having cousins in town...with lots more fun and noise.
  • Some cousins were missing their parents...and had a wonderful surprise visit from their dad (He was just in time for Mariah's birthday party. GREAT timing Jim! My brother-in-law is Jim, too...as well as several uncles, cousins, and grandpas...seriously the number is amazing).
Wrestling on the bed, and I swear this was several weeks ago...but my camera says it was only last Sunday.

On Monday, we were going to go to the zoo with some friends for family night once our husbands were off of work. Logan was SO excited to go with his best friend, but he fell asleep just ten minutes before we needed to leave.

I put his shoes on him thinking that would wake him up...but it didn't. And he didn't want to walk down the stairs to the car when I forced him to wake up.

This was the first time Annie fed a giraffe, and I really wish her face had been in the picture! She was DEEPLY OFFENDED that the giraffe ate her cracker, and wailed to let everyone know it! It was hilarious.

Logan and Gabrian: Best Buddies

This must have been Thursday because I know that's when I had all the kids over...

Bryce (after our errand-running, pizza-eating, mall-shopping, play-area jumping day) He was literally talking to us one second and the next he was out.

Today...and it really does feel like today...oh how I love Sundays!
