So Happy Together

Annie and Logan have loved each other from the start, but they are really starting to play together more. (I have a feeling that is going to step up a whole new level when Annie REALLY can crawl...she is SO CLOSE!)

I suppose there was a little assistance to actually get Annie in the wagon and on the truck...but they had a blast!

Pictures Please

I have noticed a trend among myself and other women with children. It seems that once that first baby arrives, we mothers are no longer in any pictures. Don't get me wrong here; I LOVE seeing your beautiful children, and I LOVE showing off my beautiful children. But I sometimes would like to see YOUR BEAUTIFUL FACES. So if anyone would be so kind as to oblige me, post a picture of yourself! I will start the trend.

Yes, I took this picture myself because my two-year-old isn't very handy with a camera yet. This done, now you will see nothing but pictures of my children and husband for the next six months. :)

Droopy Underwear, Belly Flops, and Other Happenings

We've had a few interesting/ fun times over the last two weeks.

We woke up one morning to discover lots of snow, and it was still falling. I had a visiting teaching appointment in our complex, but it was a few buildings over, so we had to walk outside to get there. Logan was SO excited to play in the snow, but he fought me over putting on his boots and gloves. I guess he thought those boots were a little intimidating since he's never worn them and they are so much bigger than his shoes. We had our slowest walk ever to get to my appointment because Logan wanted to lay down in the snow and eat it. On the way back we really took our time and Logan had a blast. The only downside was I didn't realize how badly Annie would want to play in it, and she wasn't waterproofed. Next time I'll be sure she can play in it too.

This was our Family Home Evening activity one night. Tuba Ruba! Yeah! Logan loved it. It was fun to watch him try to get the marbles down the tube.

Sick day. For weeks, we'd been saying how grateful we were that no one had gotten sick yet this season. Then we ALL caught something. We've all been sick most of the week. YUCK.

I bought Logan a few more pairs of underwear since we wanted to have plenty once he actually started wearing them. These ones are from the movie "Cars", and he was so excited to wear them. Unfortunately, he has a really little rump; they are practically falling off!

After posing for a couple of pictures and playing for a short time, he decided he was done wearing his "car diaper" (still hasn't figured out the word 'underwear') and wanted to wear a regular diaper. He hasn't been very interested in using the potty lately, either. I guess the novelty has worn off. Oh well...he's definitely in control of this potty training thing. I'm just glad I've had it in my head from the start that this is HIS decision, or I might be a little frustrated.

We took a long walk outside the other day; the weather has been in the 70's and we just had to get out despite not having a car. So I let Logan lead me and Annie on laps around our apartment complex. After we came back inside, Logan promptly removed his pants, and decided to buckle himself into Annie's stroller.

He thought it was pretty funny until he realized he couldn't unbuckle himself!

Whenever I put Annie in a new outfit, I think I need a picture. (Is she sticking her tongue out at me?)

Yesterday Logan was rocking very violently on his horse trying to "get the soccer ball!", and he went over the front of it and landed flat on his belly on the floor. It didn't phase him. He got back up and proceeded to do it a second time. He thought it was pretty funny. I grabbed the camera at that point, just in case he went for a third round. Not that I wanted to risk injury for my little guy, but he'd learned the consequence of rocking too hard...right? The answer is 'right'. He didn't do it again.

Another new outfit...and I got a great smile.

ALMOST crawling...and I am SO excited! My babies don't seem to learn to crawl when other babies do (I have a couple of theories on that)...Logan was 13 months, and he walked first. Annie is almost 10 months, and is just figuring it out. I know some moms say they don't want their babies to learn to crawl, especially once they have more than one child; I can't say the same. They are so much happier once they can move on their own, and that makes me happy...even if they do get into everything.

I understand putting snaps on onesies. I understand putting snaps on overalls. But PANTS??!! Maybe the bigger sizes of pants don't come with snaps. I suppose most 2 and 1/2 year olds don't wear 18 month pants, but my kid is a runt (wonder where he got that from?). Logan decided that unsnapping his pants was WAY COOL because then he could wear a skirt. Then he wanted me to snap it all back together so he could unsnap it again. Silly kid.

Poop

This is not for those with weak stomachs...

Two funny stories:

On Sunday, Jim and I were asked to speak at a baptism after church. We made sure the kids had something to eat and had fresh diapers on before it started; we were hoping they would make it through without too much problem. I stood up to speak and was right in the middle when Logan came running up to me, "Momma, I pooped! I pooped!" "Okay, buddy...just a minute." "I POOPED!" Everyone was cracking up. Jim pulled him away from the front, and managed to keep him for about thirty seconds before he was back up front. "Momma! Momma! I POOPED! I POOPED!" Admittedly, I thought it was funny too.

On Tuesday, I was in the bathroom fixing my hair when I heard Logan say, "I pooped!" I wasn't overly concerned until he appeared in the doorway stark naked. I checked his bottom, and sure enough, he had pooped. I quickly ushered him into the bathroom, told him to stay there, and went searching for the diaper he'd been wearing. I saw it in the hallway, picked it up, and discovered it was empty...where was the poop? Well, I found it and not in a place I was happy about. In his haste to remove his diaper, it had fallen out on the carpet in the living room. GROSS.

Text Messaging

They sure do start young...(She really did almost send a text to Jim.)

Potty Time

We've started letting Logan use the potty, and he thinks it's pretty neat. We're really relaxed about it so far; Logan can use it when he wants to, and we aren't pushing it at all. He's actually having a lot of success already. He's really excited about his "train diaper", AKA underwear. He doesn't know what they are called, but he knows he gets to wear them instead of his diaper once he masters the potty. I really thought it would be longer before he understood what to do, so we're really pleased so far.

Thinking about it...

Where's Logan? (Hint: Notice the little foot.)

Hi! Sitting on the potty can take awhile...he just needed to keep himself entertained.

Chef Logan

Logan is absolutely loving his Christmas present that I made him. He really liked cooking before, but this has stepped it up to a whole new level. He has to wear his apron and hat for everything we make; the other day he insisted on putting it all on just to help stir juice. I'm loving the apron because it keeps his clothes clean when he helps me.

Posing for the camera.

He had a little trouble getting his hat on right.

We made gingerbread cookies so he could try out all of his new kitchen gadgets. He's using his Logan-sized rolling pin and mat to roll out the dough. The spatula was so much fun for poking the dough!

Washing his own dishes once the cookies were in the oven.

Voila! A wonderful assortment of shapes; he used EVERY cookie cutter.

Our Funny Little Man

Sometimes I think there is nothing cuter than a two year old little boy. Logan constantly amuses us with the things he does.

The other day I was working in the kitchen, and came around the corner to discover this. He decided that he needed to take a nap beside the couch.

Fresh out of the bath. I've seriously considered putting gel in his hair to make it stay...

Bubble fun; I am amazed at how quickly a bottle of bubble bath can be used up!

Notice that there is NO water. He really likes to stall when it comes to getting out of the tub.

Family Day in Denver

Last Saturday we decided to take advantage of Jim's last day of his school break (because he started an interim course on Monday) and have a family day. Logan has been really excited whenever he sees pictures of temples, and especially about the Angel Moroni. He frequently points to the picture of the temple in our living room and "Angel Moroni!!" So, we decided to take him to see it in real life. When we drove up, Logan said, "Temple! Angel Moroni! Cool!" We took him inside the annex first so he could see the Christus statue. He thought that was really neat, and was VERY quiet when we walked up to it. Then he just stared. Unfortunately, we picked the coldest day possible; the wind was absolute ICE! So we couldn't spend as much time outside the car as we wanted.

This nativity was on the temple lawn, and Logan was really excited about the baby Jesus.

We went to lunch, and then headed over to the Denver Children's Museum. We'd never been there, and you have to pay for all adults and children over the age of 1; so we were really hoping it would be worth it. It turned out to be a really fun thing for both Logan and Annie. Definitely something we'll revisit. We didn't get pictures of everything because the kids were getting impatient with the camera, and we picked a really busy day to go.

Making his name out of crayon rubbings. (He might have had a little help...)

Playing in the shop.

Caught a fish!

Swimming in "The Pond"...babies only!

She wasn't very thrilled about being a firewoman.

Logan loved being a fireman, though. We had to visit this area twice.

In the dance area.

Bubbles...this was a VERY wet room.

Making a car out of egg cartons, milk caps, and wood. I think the big boy was more interested in this one...wonder why. :)

At the firetruck again...
