Pink Day and Baseball

After Chick Fil A on Friday, we wandered into JCPenney where my mom found something to buy for each of the kids.  They were all excited to wear their new shirts on Saturday.

Since the girls matched we had an impromtu photo shoot.

It was purely coincidental that my mom and I also wore pink that day.

That evening we went to a baseball game.  It was a little hot for the first little bit, but otherwise we had a good time.

The kids had some coupons for the kids' zone at the ballpark.  Annie is at the top of this slide.

More pictures at home of the kids showing off their new shirts...

Alex had a shark shirt.

Logan got a John Deere shirt.

This is way out of order, but we also had monkey bread Saturday morning.  Yum!

Logan had an extra chore to put away some laundry the other day.  We were pretty impressed with how much he could carry at one time.

Cow Appreciation Day

Last Friday we enjoyed Chick Fil A's Cow Appreciation Day.  This was our fourth year.

Abby was an adorable calf.

We took lots of herd pictures.

Last year there were lots of people dressed up and lots of activities.  This year we were the only ones dressed up and there were no activities.  I was surprised by this, but we still had fun and enjoyed our free food.

Nauvoo

Sarah had to leave Monday morning, so I started the day by taking her to the airport.  :(  It was a great visit with her, though, and it meant a lot to me that she came.  After that my mom and I again exercised our domestic powers while Jim took his parents to tour the John Deere facilities.  It felt good to get my house clean and stay home.  That evening Jim, Logan, and Annie went with Jim's parents to a hotel near Nauvoo to swim and stay the night.  My mom and I enjoyed a quiet evening with only two kids.

The following pictures may or may not be from that Monday.  :)

On Tuesday we met up again in Nauvoo.  It was fairly hot, but we still had a good time.  The kids really enjoyed Pioneer Pastimes.

Midday we went to a play in the visitor's center.  That was something that we hadn't done before since it doesn't go on year round, so it was new to all of us.

We had a picnic dinner and then headed over to the country fair.  The kids couldn't wait to do the tug of war.  Annie and Logan had the rope all to themselves.

They were actually a pretty good match for each other, but Logan did eventually overpower Annie.  She didn't like that very much.

After the fair we watched the pageant.  Jim's parents had to leave partway through and Abby was having a hard time, so we had some interruptions, but overall it was pretty good.  Mostly we were glad to have had such a nice visit with Jim Sr. and Audrey.
