Recent Pictures

Annie has been wearing everyone's shoes lately.  Here she is in Uncle Josh's shoes.

This is a bunkbed...

Alex is suddenly figuring out his coordination.  He's feeding himself, putting things on his head, rolling cars on the floor, and almost crawling.

My mom recently had her birthday, and this was my present to her.  It's not a project I would have thought of myself; she actually requested.  The fabric is 50 years old, and is one of the few things she had from her own mother (who passed away when she was 9).  Her mom used to make her nightgowns when she was a little girl, and so she wanted one made out of her fabric.

Coldstone sent us our birthday ice cream in January, so we went and got it.  Since Jim couldn't be with us, I took pictures for him.

This was Alex's first taste of ice cream and he loved it!

While I was in the shower one day (why do these things always happen when I'm in the shower?) Logan decided to make some eggs...  I'm just glad he did it over the counter.

Kids Say...

I've been texting Jim whenever the kids say funny things lately, so I have quite the log of them in my phone.  I thought I'd record some of them:

Logan, "If a pig was on a parachute I might need it for food.  Then I might shoot it and eat it while I was on an airplane."

Annie praying, "Heavenly Father, thank you for Jesus, go swimming, Mommy go to Iowa, watch a movie.  Oh!  NOT watch a movie!  Read stories, amen!"

Annie, "I fart too much."

Logan, "That sure is a big puddle of ice!"

Logan upon seeing a jet fly overhead, "I might have to fly one of those someday."

Logan, "I am driving a fimemf (cement) truck!"

Logan when I asked him to cuddle, "Once I am five I will want to cuddle with you again."

Annie when I was leaving for the temple, "Are you getting married again?"

Logan after falling off of his bike," Maybe when I am grown up and I have a bike with 9 wheels I won't fall.  Then I will be safe.  I am glad that Heavenly Father caught that (the bike crash).  I bet my throat got hurt too.  I bet some lunch would help it feel better."

Logan, "I think Heavenly Father is going to eat some fish for lunch."  Then he wanted to know how Heavenly Father buys his food., and insisted that Jesus has a lot of food in heaven.

Logan when watching the snow fall, "Oh Mommy!  Heavenly Father just was waving at me!"

Annie, "Where is Thomas the train?"
Me, "I don't know."
Annie, "He is in the scriptures."
Me, "No he's not."
Annie, " Oh!  Thomas Monson is in the scriptures and Joseph Smith!"

Logan out of nowhere, "I'm not going to hit my kids when I'm a grown up (we don't hit our kids just in case you were worrying) because then I will go to prison.  So I'm not going to hit or kick or bite them."

Annie, " That water bottle is making me more sick.  I need to take a cold bath.  That sick is in my throat."

Logan, "It hurts when I close my eyes in bed so they are just blinking.  My mouth doesn't open in bed."

Logan, "I was trying to talk to Annie, but she wouldn't respond!"

Logan, "Are these shirts my options?"

Logan, "Goliath?!  I thought he was coming swimming with us!  But he's dead!"

I was having a serious discussion with Logan about being kind and he said, "I can see some hair in your nose."

Logan, " I put my eye against your eye and it's an eye kiss."

Logan came home with a balloon from a birthday party and he said, "Will you tie that to my dresser please?  That way it will be decorated for Christmas."

Logan, " When I am a missionary I will teach you the Gospel.  Then after I'm grown up and am a missionary, I will go to Iowa and teach Daddy the Gospel."

Pictures For Jim

I've taken a few pictures for Jim this week.  Here they are:

I chopped off half my hair today...this is the result.  Sorry, sweetheart, I know you like it long, but maybe I will actually fix it once in a while now.

The many faces of Logan...

The many faces of Annie...
In this picture, note her quadruple stroller.  I wish I could so easily fit more kids into my stroller...

The many faces of Alex...
His big brother decided he needed some toys on this particular morning and he was loving it.

This is probably the best picture...if you can ignore the boogers on his face.

I then wiped his face...

Nauvoo

On Thursday Jim and I went to the Nauvoo temple.  It had been an extremely foggy day, but as we came closer I noticed a little bit of blue sky in the distance.  The blue sky increased and was right over the temple.  The sun even came out and shone in the windows of the temple while we were there.  I thought that was pretty neat because that was the only time we saw the sun for three days of our trip.  It was dark once we were done, though, so my pictures aren't very good.

It was very windy...and cold.

Play Time

My dad gave the kids a play tent and tunnel for Christmas and they have been having a blast with it this week!

Sleepy Heads and a Bad Cold

We were really busy during the weeks leading up to Christmas, plus once we found out Jim was taking the job in Iowa, we weren't real strict with bedtime so he could have more time with the kids.  Our kiddos had some moments of exhaustion.

On Christmas day Annie came down with a cold that she managed to pass to nearly every member of our families plus one of Josh's friends.  I think Jim and my dad are the only ones that escaped.  I came home from Iowa (having been sick myself) to very sick kids.  Here is what they looked like Sunday morning...and they'd already been sick for several days.

This is a nasty long-lasting cold, but the good news is that it's not strep throat!
