Wisconsin Dells Trip

We made a last second decision to go on a little vacation to Wisconsin Dells. In a matter of 5 minutes I was on the phone making the reservation, and then we were out the door almost immediately. Ha ha!

We booked a package at the Wilderness Resort which included all sorts of fun. It was a nice resort! We had a blast at the 4 indoor water parks, and also had some dry fun that was included.

Our favorite things were the big slides and the wave pool (no pictures🤷‍♀️). We swam for three full days there, and then, because of a big snowstorm, stayed a final night at a different resort where we swam a 4th day.

Some of our dry fun that was part of the package:  go-karts, laser tag, arcade, and mini golf.

Brig LOVED the go-karts! He was very sad when it was over.

We had a ton of arcade credits that were included, so we played around in there for a while. We discovered that Logan is really good at claw machines! He pulled out several big prizes for us, and even helped strangers pull out prizes! We walked away with a ton of arcade prizes. So funny!

Jim was the winner in laser tag, and it was also a new experience for the little kids. Quick, but fun.

Black light mini golf was fun and even had some aquarium animals. Brig and Laurel were cute with their golf clubs.

More dry fun: a ropes course! This wasn't a physically difficult course, but for those of us who are afraid of heights, it was a good mental challenge! Laurel, Abby, and I were terrified for the first little bit, but we all found our confidence and ended up enjoying it. Jim and the kids had never done something like this before, so it was neat that we could do it all together.

Climbing walls!
We were supposed to drive home on that Friday, but decided it wasn't safe with the weather. So we searched for the cheapest possible place to stay that night. The cheapest place turned out to be a different resort!

We had an additional day of fun.  This resort (Mt. Olympus) included some indoor rides, an indoor waterpark, and a tubing/ ski hill. We didn't have winter gear with us, so we skipped that part. We spent a few hours on the rides and in the water, and then we finally headed home.

What a fun impromptu vacation!

Hairstyles

We have another go-to hairstyle that only takes a minute or two. This one is especially awesome because it looks fancy!

More fun hair:

Post braid poof. We can call her Hermione.

Ski Day

✔Bindings adjusted (all different types 🤦‍♀️)
✔Boots tried on
✔Backyard test accomplished 🤣

Ready to go!

We had an awesome ski day! We had perfect soft snow all day and evening, and everyone had so much fun!

I taught Abby to ski that day, and she did great! She mastered a nice controlled snow plow, and went down every single green and blue run by the end of the day. (We're in the Midwest, so that actually translates to various levels of green terrain. LOL) She did way better than I expected, and I had so much fun with her!

The rest of the big kids had a great day too. They took a few turns with Abby so I could get some runs in with each of them. Our little resort doesn't have any challenging terrain, but it's perfect for building confidence and working on technique.

Logan learned what it's like to ski with an adult sized body this time. It's a lot more tiring! Ha ha! He's grown a lot in the last year! I hardly saw him all day, and I totally forgot to take a video of him.

Annie improved a lot this trip! She's snowplowing in the video I took, but she worked on keeping her skis parallel most of the day, and she was brave about everything. I really enjoyed skiing with her in particular this time.

Alex has no fear! He learned to ski only last winter, but had no trouble picking up where he left off. He worked on his turns a lot this time and (mostly) skied in control.  🤦‍♀️ He LOVES the terrain park.

Alexia was heading home the following week, so I was extra excited to have a ski day with her! She had a blast too. On the way home, she made the comment that a ski day just makes you want to ski more. So true!

Jim and the little kids even came and hung out in the lodge all day. The lift drops us off right next to the lodge, so we popped in and out all day. The little ones loved playing in the snow and watching all the skiers. It was so fun to have all the family there!

Trampoline Park

We had a fun afternoon at our local trampoline park!

Silliness

Some silliness.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! We had a fun evening with games, a puzzle, movies, and food.

Sledding!

We had fun sledding!

Fun Treats

We had some fun treats: snow ice cream, a puff pastry invention that I threw together with random leftover ingredients, and monkey bread.

Annie's First Dance

These cute girls had fun at a dance. Annie was SO excited because it was her first dance. She had a great time!
