Nauvoo Historical Film
Jim and Logan had a neat experience! They were extras for a movie! Some friends from our ward were in it too, so it was extra neat that they did it together.
Touch the Temple
We had a fantastic weekend in Nauvoo! Our stake organized a full weekend to #touchthetemple. We served in the temple, enjoyed the historic sites, had church together, and the youth enjoyed a dance and fireside with church leaders from Salt Lake. Abby even invited her sweet friend to join us, and they had a great time together!
Feeling Grateful
I'm feeling grateful for teen drivers and carpooling.
With our big family and homeschooling, we have SO many places to be throughout the day. Most of the time, the various classes and activities aren't too much for the individual child, but they usually add up to be way too much driving for me without help.
I was trying to count how many times we'd carpooled with friends in just 4 days, and I think the number was 14 trips to or from somewhere. Wow! I'm so grateful for friends (and teens of friends) who are willing to come together to make life easier! And I so appreciate my own teen driver who has hugely and joyfully reduced the amount of places I have to drive each day. I can't even begin to count the number of trips he's saved me; several each day for sure! (Busy families, I highly recommend having a teen driver! 🤣)
This help has majorly impacted me and my family in many ways.
*I've been able to get more sleep, enough to be fully rested most of the time. This is AMAZING! I felt like a zombie all of last school year, but I've felt pretty good this year. The whole family enjoys a well rested mom. 🤣
*I've had time to make dinner almost every night, and our meals have been healthier because I feel human. The whole family enjoys this too. 😉
*Every day, we're able to have several hours in a row of dedicated school time without being interrupted by the need to take/ pick up kids from classes. Our school time is mostly joyful again and I don't feel so rushed. SO HUGE.
*Jim and I are finding little bits of time together on week nights. Last night, we even had time for a mini date because of amazing friends and Logan. On a Wednesday! 😮❤️
*The kids are able to benefit from electives, sports, youth activities, and community classes. They also get fun time with friends because of these activities.
*I've had more time to connect with my kids, and more energy to interact with them.
*I'm simply home more often which helps me feel less chaotic.
AMAZING! Thank you so much to friends who have helped and continue to help our family! ❤️
