Butterflies!
Alex received a butterfly pavilion for Christmas. He very patiently saved it until spring when he could order some caterpillars for it. It was really neat watching the caterpillars grow and change into butterflies!
Releasing them was quick, but really fun.
Abby's 6th Birthday
Our hilarious, spunky, intelligent, and sassy little girl turned six! Abby is so full of personality and we are so grateful that she is part of our family.
We celebrated as a family on her birthday.
She had a friend party another day. I'm pretty sure this was the laziest party I've ever thrown. I didn't feel well the night before, so I made cupcakes and decided the kids could just decorate them.
She has a lot of friends!
In addition to not decorating her cupcakes, I also didn't go to the store to get anything nice to go with the frosting. So we gave the kids colored sugar to sprinkle on their cupcakes. They were perfectly happy with it. Ha ha!
Logan put on a magic show for all the kids.

April
We had some sickness go through our house during April. Logan was kind enough to read to Laurel.
Sick Annie
Laurel fell asleep next to me.
Brig thinks it's hilarious to make this face.
Cute boy had a haircut.
I did a once a month cooking day. The first step was to cook a LOT of meat!
I had these meals ready for the freezer after about two hours.
A couple of hours later, and I had these ready as well.
They all fit! I made 24 meals in 4 hours.
I was truly finished when the kitchen was clean and dinner was on the stove.
While I was chopping onions, Laurel snuck a bite.
Me, "Do you like it?"
Laurel, "Uh huh."
Me, "Do you want more?"
Laurel, "Uh huh."
Then her face suddenly fell as she swallowed.
Laurel ran to the fridge, "I need a drink! I not want more!"
Someone threw a pencil and it stuck in the wall.
Library day.
Alex has been listening to audiobooks for hours and hours every day. I'm really glad he can consume great literature this way since he still struggles so much to read.
Abby complained all school year that she didn't get to do math in school (they only taught number recognition in Kindergarten). So, she sometimes asked for problems to work when she was at home. (I'm so excited to homeschool her again this coming year!)
I was so excited when flowers started popping up in the spring! It turns out that we have lots of beautiful flowers throughout our landscaping!
Silly Abby.
Funny Alex.
Sweet Laurel.
We had a final snowfall in April that finally broke the record! We had almost 5 feet of snow last winter!
